The Earls Barton Skate Park Project are raising money to improve the existing skate facilities in the village. A local mother saw this was something that was letting the community down, and wanted to help. The current ramps in the village are becoming a hazard to the community with splitting wood and raised metal edges, with repair costs becoming a frequent issue.
These ramps are used on a daily basis by ages 2-32 and varying levels of ability and they can no longer sustain the level of use. To allow for the diversity of the riders, the design needs modernising to ensure all needs are met in a safe manner, which means a slight increase in size of the existing plot.
The project aims to achieve the following:
· A programme of affordable, accessible, structured activities for local children and young people
· Improving sports facilities in the local area by providing a new, high quality community resource
The overall goal of £150,000, we hope will be achieved through local fund raising, grant applications and match funding as well as any donations. This money will then be used to design and build the new skate park.
M & M Access were happy to donate this scooter as a raffle prize for their upcoming Christmas quiz and buffet.
