The retractable ladder is fixed to a 600 x 200mm plywood backboard, which is screw fixed to an appropriate surface in the location required.
The FAL is designed to take a maximum loading of 200kg/tread or 500kg/m2 of the overall structure.
An adjustable counterbalance spring is incorporated into the pivot bracket to ensure that the stairway can be raised and lowered smoothly with a minimum of effort.
This ladder when closed has a height of 600mm but we recommend 650mm with a clearance to operate.
